2023 Advanced One Acts

Currently was written largely by Bob Ernst but also included passages and scenes written by students. Bob is one of our longest running guest artists and beloved by all who work with him. Currently was directed in part by CTE Senior Ella Cox who was also a member of the cast and who studied writing with bob in a series of special workshops he offers. It was easily our most adventurous show of the season.

Ernie’s Incredible Ilucinations was a student favorite this year in large part due to John Demegillo’s creative directing. John is a recent CTE alumnist who has returned to impart his unique perspective on acting to our students. Ernie’s, as students called it, followed a young boy and his out of control imagination. THe production was just darling.

Improv saw Regina make true improvisers of her cast. They came together exceptionally well as a cast, learning to trust and rely on each other through games and exercises. Over the course of their four shows they told twelve completely original stories that they imagined into existence on the spot. They came to call themselves Caldwell’s Clementines after the theater they performed in and their favorite rehearsal snack.
